Sometimes it is being in the right place at the right time, as in the photograph of my cat Barney in the window pushing back the curtain.. Or in the case of my friend’s son Joshua sleeping in a car and the relationship of light with darkness and reflection from the window upon him.

Another example was one morning while Viviane was getting ready for work putting on her eye makeup. Our cat Felix came into the bathroom and took a drink from the toilet bowl. The picture of the man looking off into space as people are spinning about him was made at the Orange County Fair while on a day trip visiting my friend Roger and his family. I feel that photographs are all around us and we are either in touch with that reality or not. The moment when one chooses to press the shutter release button determines whether or not a moment becomes a momentous occasion.
